Eligibility: An owner of a residential single structure, or a unit within a structure, that is not intended to be moved may be eligible for coverage. If you do not buy a plan for every gas range you own, you must designate at enrollment the gas range your plan covers, or the plan will cover the first gas range for which you make a service call. If you own a multi-family home or multiple housing units, you must provide the specific mailing address for each service agreement you purchase. You are not eligible if your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your natural gas or propane system (Gas Range System) before enrollment; your entire gas range system is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners' association or the like. In IA, properties with more than 4 dwelling units are not eligible.
Benefit Details: Coverage provides as many service calls as you need for most component parts of a natural gas or propane range cook top or wall oven including: burner valves/controls; igniters, tubing and flame spreaders; miscellaneous electrical wiring (e.g., wire nuts, internal wire, internal fuses, etc.); flame switches and spark modules; regulator and circuit boards; micro switches and oven safety valve; thermostats and generators that are damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence.
Not covered: Jenn-Air, Maytag Sealed Burners and Thermador Corporation Systems; convection ovens and anything other than a standard residential four burner unit and standard, single cavity ovens; drip pans, appliance connectors, glass tops, panels and trim; hardware such as springs, hinges, gaskets, glass on door; pre-existing conditions; accidents and damage or negligence caused by you or others. Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed. There is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a service call, providing 11 months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a pro-rata refund (less claims paid, where applicable).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price and is billed monthly through your utility bill.
