  • Why You Should Get a Plan

Repairing a blower motor and wheel, fan/limit control switch and gas valve on your heating unit can cost an average of $1,561‡. Replacing a 40 gallon water heater can cost an average of $1,400‡.

How a furnace heating system failure can affect your home:

    • blower motor failure can mean the system won't supply enough heat
    • broken circuit board could mean no heat
    • lack of heat could cause pipes to freeze and induce water damage

Problems with your hot water heater can cause:

    • hot water to run out too quickly
    • no hot water for showering or washing
    • noise and odor due to sediment build-up

As a homeowner, you are responsible for the heating system and water heater inside your home, and you will have to arrange and pay for any necessary repairs. This illustration shows a typical heating system found in your home. ‡National average repair costs as of January 2023. No charge for covered repairs up to your service call benefit amount.
