- An owner of both a residential single structure that is not intended to be moved and the land it is located on
Not Eligible
- If your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your systems before enrollment; your entire system(s) is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners’ association or the like; or your electrical services entrance is rated less than 80 amps
Exclusions
- Damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Exterior Electric: Damage or failure due to disconnection or interruption to the main electrical supply, transformers, generators, non-utility supplied power and/or lines; appliances and meter pedestals. The meter that measures the amount of electricity used is not covered by this plan, but it may be covered by your local utility. Telephone and Exterior Low-Voltage: Not covered: Specialty or non-standard jacks, lines or systems, security system wiring, or wiring for any temporary or removable structures. Additional exclusions apply.
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace system(s), for which you have sole responsibility, that are damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. Exterior Electric: What’s covered: The broken, failed or hazardous permanent high voltage overhead or underground wiring, including to detached garages and fixtures, and the weatherhead, insulator, riser, meter base, and service entrance conductor located between your utility’s responsibility and the exterior wall of your home. Frayed high voltage wiring that is still functional is also covered. Interior Telephone/Low-Voltage: What’s covered: The broken, failed or hazardous low-voltage telephone wiring from the network interface(s), up to and including the jacks, and the thermostat and doorbell wiring from the switch connection to the opener motor or chime bell connection. Exterior Low-Voltage: What’s covered: The broken, failed, or hazardous low-voltage wiring outside your home but on your property that is used for lighting, electronic gates, and any landscaping wiring that runs up to the point of connection with low-voltage fixtures.

Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed. There is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a repair service call, giving you 11 months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe or visiting www.homeserve.com. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a refund of 90% of the unearned pro rata price (less claims paid, where applicable).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price and is billed monthly through your utility bill, described as Electric Line Protection Plans.
