If one of those systems – such as the electrical line or water service live – malfunctions due to normal wear and tear, repairs can be inconvenient and expensive. Keep your home’s systems and appliances running with this optional protection plan and help protect yourself from the high cost of repairs. Eligible homeowners can select Exterior Electrical Line Coverage, which provides up to $3,000 in annual coverage with multiple service calls for covered repairs, and Exterior Water Service Line Plus, which includes which includes unlimited annual coverage, unlimited service calls up to $5,000 per call for covered repairs, and up to $1,000 for each covered repair for restoration of your pavement, yard, or landscaping disturbed by the covered repair.

  • If your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your exterior water service line before enrollment; or your entire exterior water service line is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners’ association or the like

Exclusions

  • Damage or failure due to disconnection or interruption to the main electrical supply; transformers; generators; non-utility supplied power and/or lines; appliances; meter pedestals; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. The meter that measures the amount of electricity used is not covered by this plan, but it is maintained by FPL. Additional exclusions apply.
  • Branch lines, frozen lines, any tanks or appliances, replacement of any artificial grass or plants, restoration to water structures, pastures or wooded areas, and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Additional exclusions apply.

Eligibility: An owner of both a residential single structure that is not intended to be moved and the land it is located on may be eligible for coverage. You are not eligible if your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your exterior electrical system before enrollment; your exterior electrical system is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners’ association or the like; or your electrical services entrance is rated less than 80 amps.
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace the broken, failed or hazardous permanent high voltage overhead or underground wiring, including to detached garages and fixtures, and the weatherhead, insulator, riser, meter base, and service entrance conductor located between your utility’s responsibility and the exterior wall of your home, for which you have sole responsibility, that is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. Frayed high voltage wiring that is still functional and broken, failed, or hazardous permanently wired exterior electrical fittings and fixtures is also covered.
Not covered: Damage or failure due to disconnection or interruption to the main electrical supply; transformers; generators; non-utility supplied power and/or lines; appliances; meter pedestals; and damage from accidents, negligence or otherwise caused by you, others or unusual circumstances. Making a Service Call: Your plan starts the day your enrollment is processed. There is an initial 30-day waiting period before you can make a repair service call, giving you 11 months of coverage during the first year. Upon renewal/reactivation (if applicable), there is no waiting period.
Cancellation: Cancel any time by calling HomeServe or visiting www.homeserve.com. If you cancel within 30 days of your start date, you will get a full refund (less claims paid, where applicable). Cancellations after the first 30 days will result in a refund of 90% of the unearned pro rata price (less claims paid, where applicable).
Renewal: The plan is annual. Unless you cancel, your plan automatically renews annually at the then-current renewal price and is billed monthly through your utility bill, described as Exterior Electrical Line Protection Plan.
Eligibility: An owner of both a residential single structure permanently secured to the ground and the land it is located on may be eligible for coverage. You are not eligible if your property is used for commercial purposes; you know of any current problems with your exterior water service line before enrollment; or your entire exterior water service line is shared with a 3rd party or covered by a homeowners’ association or the like.
Benefit Details: Coverage provides, up to the applicable benefit limit, to repair or replace an exterior water service line that has experienced an operational failure, for which you have sole responsibility, from your property boundary or external wall of your well casing to the external wall of your home that is damaged due to normal wear and tear, not accident or negligence. Repair or replacement of non-functioning shut-off valves, pressure reducing valves and backflow prevention devices is also covered. Restoration to your pavement, yard or landscaping disturbed as part of a covered repair is included, up to the benefit limit
